Every once in a great while we have the opportunity to work on a project that blends our personal and professional life. Kawasaki has just completed such a project, the "For the Cure" wheel loader.
KCMA Corporation, formerly Kawasaki Construction Machinery, designed and built a "For the Cure" (Susan G. Komen, breast cancer awareness) wheel loader. This has been a very uplifting project to be involved in, with all of "the guys" rallying together to make it happen. Even our vendors got in the spirit, donating the specially-designed decals. The idea was born from a distributor located in Iowa, the concept generated at our corporate office in Kennesaw, Georgia, and the loader built at our facility in Newnan, Georgia.

Kawasaki has designed and built a 70TMV-2 "For the Cure" wheel loader at the request of Mid-Country Machinery in Iowa. Painted light pink with bright pink "Susan G. Komen for the Cure" decals, the wheel loader was ordered by the new Kawasaki distributer as an addition to their rental fleet.
Bud PeCoy, a principal with Mid-Country Machinery, a construction equipment dealer and rental company headquartered in Fort Dodge, Iowa, along with partners Mark Swedlund, Lucas Peed and Bob Conaway created the breast cancer awareness campaign when they learned that one of their customers suffered from breast cancer. Mid-Country anticipates donating 10% of the wheel loader rental proceeds over the course of the next 54 months. "Hopefully, this is just the beginning of our contribution" stated PeCoy. "We are passionate about this cause because we feel it's safe to say that many of us have known someone with this devastating illness. Our hope is that we can not only heighten awareness, but also donate money for the research, treatment, and the never-ending search for the cure."
Kawasaki is the newest addition to the successful Breast Cancer Awareness program by Mid-Country Machinery joining a Kobelco SK210 Mark 8 excavator and two JLG 800S telescoping boomlifts.
The Kawasaki 70TMV-2, a parallel lift wheel loader, is fitted with a JRB quick coupler and 3.4 cu. yd. bucket. The new Tier 3 engine boosts both power and torque, yet is extraordinarily fuel-efficient. The 70TMV-2 also has a Machine Operations Diagnostic Module (MODM) that provides essential operational and diagnostic machine information, and offers an Efficient Loading System (ELS) that increases rimpull power while demanding less fuel. As with all Kawasaki wheel loaders, the 70TMV-2 is built to last. The unit uses a box-section frame design for additional strength; and has a larger center pin than competitive models and, has the largest tires in its class for better floatation and stability. It also features an outboard brake system, typically found only on much larger wheel loaders. The 70TMV-2 gives you great dump clearance and breakout force as well.
Comfort features include increased leg room in the cab; standard air conditioning, and a Ride Control option. |

| KAWASAKI DEALERS PARTICIPATE IN "FOR THE CURE" EVENTS |

Since debuting the Kawasaki "For the Cure" wheel loader, many of our dealers have notified us of events going on in their communities for charities.
Stafford Equipment just had a very successful "Shoot for the Cure" event to raise money for the Susan G. Komen "For the Cure" charity. Kawasaki's pink "Carrying the Load" hats were distributed to the ladies, and the "Carrying the Load" poster was distributed to all of the attendees. The trap and skeet shoot was organized by Kent Cole, Stafford Equipment and his friend Tom Petree, after receiving news of a close friend being diagnosed with breast cancer. They created flyers to engage the construction community and obtained several corporate sponsors for the event.
As Kent Cole, put it "It truly was a great event and we feel very happy for the results from this year. After everything is said and done the spirit of the weekend was totally about caring about a friend!" |

| "For the Cure" Wheel Loader Event "Relay for Life" raises over $38,000.00 |

The 12-hour event took place at Husky Stadium from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. There were teams of law and rescue persons, health care professionals, cousins, businesses, organizations and more, all with a united purpose of supporting, honoring and remembering family members, friends and coworkers stricken with cancer.
According to Sarah Foster, Community Relations Coordinator with the Midwest Division of the American Cancer Society, this year's total from the annual "Relay For Life" is more than 16 percent greater than last year. The grand total raised was $38,829. This year marked its 25th year.
Mid-Country Machinery displayed their Kawasaki "For the Cure" wheel loader along with Kawasaki "For the Cure" hats and posters. Personnel from MCM and Kawasaki both attended the event. |
